This is the party to end all parties, running for 22 hours from 8 o'clock on Sunday mornings, until 6am the next next day!
Rising from the ashes of Home Ibiza, "We Love..." - don't forget the three dots - is basically still Home, with the familiar DJ line-up.
I didn't go much in 2002 and 2003, despite being routinely on the guest list, as work rarely allowed me a minute's break on Sundays. I was lucky enough to make it down to the final Vivid party of the 2002 season, We Love's closing party, to see the transformations made by the Vivid crew to the Terrace, but the highlight of the day was the Terrace set from Laurent Garnier, which will stay with me for a long, long time.
Made it a couple of times in 2003, but it wasn't as much fun this year. I guess it does make a difference who you go with...Gonna try and get down more in 2004...
Well, despite odds against it, I actually made it to "We Love..." more times in 2004 than in 2003. It's definitely one of the highlights of the week at Space, and a lot busier than the rest, other than possibly Carl Cox or Carry On. A good choice if you can't decide between Gorgeous or Scandal, and easily the ideal place to be before either!
For 2005, the only options for Sunday nights are now Scandal and "We Love..." (Gorgeous has moved back to Friday nights), so I'm guessing I might get there a tad more frequently... Steve Lawler's gone to Thursdays, leaving Groove Armada to headline most weeks, along with Smokin Jo's NastyDirtySexMusic, so big changes all round.
Hmm... It's kinda changed, the vibe at We Love (dot dot dot). In a similar way to Circo Loco at DC-10 on Mondays, less and less people are arriving early on Sunday morning, so compared to Matinée Group the day before, We Love's a bit of a daytime non-event. When it really kicks off is later in the day, when island resident DJ Oliver takes to the decks on the Sunset Terrace, continuing through to the wee small hours of Monday with the big headlining guests, such as Danny Tenaglia (brought in to revive to party's ailing fortunes in 2006). It's fun for a few hours We Love..., but not as much fun as it used to be.
