 EASYJET Website: easyjet.com Why easyJet? Despite the fact that I used to love travelling with Go airline, the Ibiza route is now even cheaper and easier since they were taken over by easyJet. It has been said (by people who do not realise the cunning logic of my methods), that I have missed more flights when travelling either to or from Ibiza, than many people take in their lives. It's all slings and roundabouts (or whatever the saying is), and I've been chosing to get all the slings out of the way, so that I have a lifetime of travel roundabouts to look forward to... Okay, maybe it's swings and something else? Anyway, in 2006, I'm planning not to miss any of the considerable number of flights I've booked, and to use the money I save by doing so to start my own budget airline (eventually). Booking the flights months in advance has given me prices of less than £30 to the island, and fortunately I've only had to pay a slight premium to change them again, after the many changes to the club opening party calendar! It probably didn't help that I made many of the booking while trashed and incompetent, but providing they don't move September, I should be okay now for the rest of the year. Another advantage to light packers like myself (I'm talking about my luggage, if you don't mind), is that easyJet are also very relaxed about the amount of luggage you take with you - as shown in the pretty picture on the left. In fact, some of the bizarre charges being levied by other so-called budget airlines, make you wonder if they understand the spirit of what cheap travel is all about! The other benefit to me in using easyJet was when I brought Space, Gorgeous and La Troya to London, as the cost of flying in DJs, performers and road crew from the White Island and Italy is a lot more reasonable with easyJet than with BA or Iberia! So thanks easyJet, but could you please keep the gates open just five minutes extra for me tonight?
