CLUB LIFE
This section, devoted to my personal views on the club-scene in Ibiza, is why The Ibiza Boy website exists. It was going to be called 'Disco Junkie', after both my second favourite T-shirt and my Gaydar alter-ego, but the word 'disco' drives even the most liberal-minded of clubbers running to the hills! Then I considered 'Club Whore', but that attracted all the wrong sort of hits via search engines. So, welcome to Club Life, the only guide to clubbing in Ibiza that is written exclusively by me. And that has to count for something!
Ibiza has an international reputation as being the place to make or break both dance records and DJs, and a trip to one or more of the island's many clubs is a must-do for the discerning clubber. Though Ibiza caters to a vast number of straight clubbing tourists, an equal, if not larger proportion of gay visitors to the island count a night out on a sweaty dance floor as a priority. Details of all the island's major venues, plus a selection of my favourite parties and DJ's can be found by clicking on the links to the left. There are now two venues that are "exclusively" gay, Anfora and Babylon. Of the others, Amnesia, Privilege and Space all have gay parties at least once a week, and the most successful of these is Brasilio de Oliveira's Home Of La Troya at Space.
The clubs in Ibiza are there if you want them, but if you're not interested in clubs, or clubbing, they are just as easily ignored. Ibiza's club scene receives an undeserved bad press, but it is worth checking out for yourself, whatever your age, or taste in music. The club scene is very much a part of the Ibiza experience.
