Okay, if you've read this far, you're interested in the club scene in Ibiza.

If you're thinking of going to Ibiza for the first time, and want to hit the clubs at their ABSOLUTE BEST... Time your visit/holiday so that you're there for the closing parties. Seriously, the first time I went to a closing party, I liked it so much I bought the island!

The biggest closing weekend is when Space closes on the nearest Sunday to the end of September, followed immediately by the closing party of DC10, in turn followed by the closing party of NastyDirtySexMusic, then a couple of days later by the final Bora-Bora of the season.

My favourite closing party has to be La Troya. I skipped my flight home in 2000 so that I could be there, and I haven't missed one since. My first Space closing party was the following year, and I haven't missed one of those since either.

These people who waste their money going to Ibiza during August seriously need their heads examining, as standing nose-to-tail in a club overcrowded with minging muscle marys and lowest common denominator tourists from every corner of the globe is not the option!

For 2005, the dates for your diary are 19th September (Manumission), 21st September (La Troya), 25th September (We Love...), 1st October (Matinée Group), 2nd October (Space) and 3rd October (DC 10 and NastyDirtySexMusic). Other recommended closing parties are Armada, Gorgeous, Scandal, Amnesia, Cocoon and Made In Italy.

If you book your flights now with easyJet (there's a link on my home page), and stay at Hostal La Peña, it might actually be cheaper for you to go to Ibiza for a couple of weeks than to stay at home! It's this kind of logic which helps me return to Ibiza year after year...

If you can be in Ibiza for the whole four week period up until the 4th or 5th October, you should be able to hit every major closing party and come home with a tan, as the weather in September is often better than July or August!
